The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business is designed for students that strive to gain comprehensive, integrated business knowledge with courses that meet the trends, needs and expectations of the business community. 

This degree program is designed for students that plan to enter the workforce upon graduation. 

It also offers optional Certificates of Proficiency in General Business and Business Management.

Today's workforce requires that the successful employee possess initiative, ability to adapt to change, and a sincere interest in their work. Many opportunities are available for you in the world of business. You could be employed by a corporation or small business, a government agency or non-profit organization, or a college or university.

The flexibility of the program allows for the creation of a degree plan that can extend from general knowledge to a specified narrow concentration in the business area. 

Courses for these degrees and programs are offered at the  Levelland Campus, Lubbock Career and Technical Center and the Plainview Center.

Associate of Applied Science Degree - Business

Students who satisfactorily complete the 60-hour curriculum will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business. Students enrolled in this program must be TSIA testing requirements.

Business Management and General Business Certificates are also offered in this program.  Students enrolled in the certificate programs are not required to meet TSIA guidelines.

Business areas taught in this degree program include general business, marketing, management, accounting, real estate and administrative support.

The program also offers optional plans for a Certificate of Proficiency in General Business and a Certificate of Proficiency in Business Management.  Both of these certificate programs are TSI-waived.  Students enrolling in either of these programs are not subject to TSI regulations when following the required degree plans.

Scholarships are available for students enrolling in many of our majors.  A list of scholarships is below.  

To apply, students must submit a scholarship application by the March 1 deadline. Applicants must indicate their intended major area of study on the scholarship application in order to be considered for these scholarships.

Some programs require applicants to submit ACT or SAT scores with the application as required for college-wide scholarships.

Applications are screened by a departmental scholarship committee.

All scholarship awards are subject to availability of funds.

The classroom setting at SPC encourages the open exchange of ideas necessary to develop these important reasoning skills. Additionally, state-of-the-art computer labs provide you with an opportunity to use microcomputers for business applications and study.
Classes at SPC are small, averaging around 25 students, so you can be sure of receiving individual attention.

ESB Entrepreneurship and Small Business Certification

Successful completion of this certification will validate the skills and knowledge for those students interested in working in a middle-skill trade profession as their own boss and those with entrepreneurship and small business career aspirations.
